My Journey with The Tiger

Telling the Stories of Clemson

Over the past three years, I’ve called The Tiger my home. We’re a nationally recognized collegiate newspaper that has been cited by the likes of Teen Vogue all the way to former Vice Presidents. During my career, I’ve been a reporter, columnist, multimedia personality and creator, and a Section Editor.

DÅZR dazzles Clemson

DÅZR dazzles Clemson

What happens when four undergrad students decide to fill the 70’s rock-shaped gap in Clemson’s music scene? DÅZR happens.

In my time as Section Editor, I had the chance to interview the band and write an in-depth feature on their story, which won 3rd Place for an Arts & Entertainment Story in the 2023 SCPA Awards.

In addition to my feature, we produced a video interview garnering thousands of views and impressions, which also kickstarted much of The Tiger’s future video pursuits.

Cobb's Coffee Corner

Over two years, I’ve visited cafes across South Carolina (and Europe!), scoring each across three categories: Vibes, Food, and Coffee. The column is one of the longest-running on The Tiger and has spun off into video content garnering tens of thousands of views.

The column has always been a passion project, but it’s spiraled into a niche community across Clemson.

'Take Back Pride' Marches

'Take Back Pride' Marches

We look up to those who challenge and face adversity, and it is a journalist’s greatest honor to tell the stories of those who herald these fights.

In response to Clemson College Republics issuing homophobic and transphobic statements after a University-sponsored Drag Show, Clemson’s Sexuality and Gender alliance, along with the broader queer community, organized a march in protest of their claims, which has since become a semesterly tradition, pushing for the University to address matters of hate speech.

I and my colleagues had the fortune of reporting on the initial and second march, interviewing leaders and bringing attention to the matter nationwide, later being cited by Teen Vogue.
